An attempt to respond positively to a comment left on the blog a couple of days ago by the effervescent Mary in which she asked what was next in the ongoing challenge posed by the book ‘creative screenwriting’ – alluded to a few times during November – and I explained that it had been to tell a story using three elements someone gave you randomly (in this case; inhaler, mountain and bush) but that I couldn’t see how to post the result within the confines of November’s design configuration that says that these titles must be longer than the post content, when the story ran to seven hundred and eight words. So, since this title is one hundred and thirty eight words, here are the first one hundred and thirty seven of - The Inhaler, The Bush and The Mountain.




It’s not known by everyone that Moses - you know, the guy in the Old Testament? – was a chronic sufferer from asthma. So when he went up the mountain to hear God’s will it wasn’t as easy for him as the Bible makes out: reading the passages in question make it look like a picnic.

It wasn’t.

So first off he had a really good breakfast, none of that locust and honey stuff either- he sat down to a double egg on toast, bacon and mushrooms, a cup of tea and extra toast and butter. Then grabbing his staff, for he knew the climb was going to be arduous, he set off through the scrub.

“Don’t forget your inhaler!” someone called out.

He had.

He went back to his tent and found it under his pillow, said...........
